What a great opening week. Bear Creek opened on Sunday, December 30 with 4 trails and 3 lifts. Bear Creek’s snowmaking team was hard at work all week and with the help of Mother Nature Bear Creek was able to have 99% of their terrain open by Saturday, January 5.
This past week the conditions could not have been better, the days were warm and sunny by the nights were colder and allowed Bear Creek to run the snowguns all night. Every morning there was fresh man-made snow for first tracks and the crowds were minimal. What a great opening week weather wise.
The terrain parks have not been completely set-up yet, but there have been features added to them almost daily. With a few more nights of ideal snowmaking BC ironworks should be able to have a full park build.
The weather does not look ideal for snowmaking this week, but it looks like there will be some nice warmer days this week to get out there and enjoy the snow that is on the mountain. Take a day off of work and get out there and enjoy the great conditions at Bear Creek. The season has just begun and it can just get better from here.
