Bear Creek Opens for 2013/2014 Season!

BEAR CREEK MOUNTAIN RESORT OPEN FOR SKIING AND RIDING SUNDAY 12/01

MACUNGIE, PA – Bear Creek Mountain Resort has taken advantage of the cold temperatures and is open for skiing and riding on Sunday, December 1, 2013. Lift tickets are just $25 for the entire day on Sunday. This is the earliest opening for Bear Creek Mountain Resort.

Open trails include: Black Bear, Kodiak, Drifter & Cub Run with lift service on the magic carpet, B & E lifts. The Snowsports School will be offering all Discovery programs, Kodiak Kids programs and Private Lessons.

The resort is looking forward to a great winter season and is thrilled to be open for skiing and riding.

Three-Day Wine & Food Festival To Be Held On April 5-7

MACUNGIE, PA - This is not your average wine festival! The weekend-long spring wine and food festival is planned for April 5-7th at Bear Creek Mountain Resort. In addition to the wine festival, a four course wine dinner, poolside aperitif tasting and champagne brunch will take place throughout the resort. Guests can attend all events or pick and choose whichever suit their interest.

Wine Weekend Events:
Four Course Wine Pairing Dinner ($93 per person)
April 5 at 6:30pm in the Mountain Ballroom
Taste, Savor and Learn: Guests will join wine expert Terry Balent to taste and discuss the fine wines of the new world and the old world winemaking regions. Wine will be paired with an exquisite menu prepared by Executive Chef Michael Greenstein. Advanced reservations are required. Reservations should be made online at bcmountainresort.com

Wine Festival- Saturday & Sunday sessions available ($25 in advance /$30 at the door)
April 6 and 7 from 1-5pm in the Mountain Ballroom
Guests will taste the wines of 14 wineries and 14 specialty food vendors. Morning and afternoon seminars explore topics like the cooking with wine, wine education and mixology. A.M. & P.M. seminars are free with purchase of event ticket. Steve Brosky, Jimmy Meyer, RED, 93 Turbo and Jake Kaligis will perform live music during the event.

Poolside Aperitif Tasting ($20 per person)
April 6 from 6-7pm at the outdoor pool
Guests will taste Ouzo, Pstis, Campari Aperol and a Vermouth cocktail, paired with an appropriate onion & rosemary pizza, stuffed olives and Marcona almonds. Live music will be played on the outdoor pool deck. Advanced reservations are required. Reservations should be made online at bcmountainresort.com

Sunday Champagne Brunch ($50 per person)
April 7: Seating at 10am, 11am and 12pm in The Grille
Guests will enjoy a full brunch before the Sunday festival tasting. Brunch fee of $50 per guest includes entry into the Sunday wine tasting session. Reservations are required and can be made by calling The Grille at 610-641-7149.

·      Four Course Wine Pairing Dinner: $93 per person

·      Wine Festival Admission: $25 per person/ per tasting session
($25 rate applies if tickets are purchased in advance. Tickets will be $30 per person/per session on the day of the event.)

LIFT OF LOVE COMING TO BEAR CREEK ON VALENTINE’S DAY

MACUNGIE, PA. ? Calling all singles! Bear Creek will be hosting ‘ski’dating on Thursday February 14, 2013. ‘Ski’dating, similar to speed dating, will take place on the Lift of Love from 7-10pm. Evening lift tickets will be just $14 for all participants. Singles will be randomly paired upon boarding the lift. Participants will have seven minutes to get to know each other while riding to the top of the mountain. Once at the top of the mountain, ‘ski’daters will decide if they want to ski together or take another ride on the lift.

Daters can mingle in the VIP area, which includes a slopeside DJ, Cupid’s fire and a s’mores buffet. The Grille is offering a special Valentine’s Day menu, which can be found online at bcmountainresort.com. Spring Fling Weekend Festival Returns To Bear Creek This Weekend

MACUNGIE, PA. ? The Spring Fling party, including the cardboard box race and pondskimming, returns March 16 & 17 to Bear Creek Mountain Resort. The cardboard box race will take place on Saturday and Ponskimming will close out the 2012-2013 winter sports season on Sunday.

Teams will race down the tubing hill in their man-made sleds, fabricated of cardboard and duct tape at the cardboard box race. Sled inspection begins at 11:30am and the race begins at noon on Saturday 3/16. Prizes will be awarded to the race champion and to the team with the most creative sled. This event is free to the public and spectators are welcome.

Ponskimming will begin at noon on Sunday, 3/17, in the base area. Participants will speed down our Kodiak trail and attempt to ski or snowboard across the pond. Spectators will cheer on their favorite contestant while enjoying live music and fun commentary. Contestants who successfully clear the pond will be entered to win an unlimited season pass for the 2013-2014 winter season. All contestants must have a lift ticket to participate.

Indoor and outdoor food and beverage service along with the tiki bar will be open both days. Spectators won’t want to miss live music featuring Local Dub and Trouble City All-Stars.

BEAR CREEK MAKES IMPROVEMENTS FOR 2012-2013 SEASON

MACUNGIE, PA. – Bear Creek Mountain Resort has made improvements for the 2012/2013 winter season that includes; a grab & go café, 22 upgraded snowguns and new equipment for our seasonal rental program.

Bear Bites a forth dining area was added. Located in our main lodge, adjacent to the Mountain Eatery, Bear Bites is a grab & go café that serves a variety of pastries, breakfast foods, specialty coffees and dessert waffles.

Over the summer, 22 of our snowguns were upgraded with a new spray manifold and nozzles. With these upgrades our snowgun fleet is now 75% automated. Automated snowguns monitor the changing weather conditions and make constant machine changes, allowing us to produce the best quality snow possible.

Due to the popularity of our seasonal rental program in its first year, All equipment has been upgraded. Ski packages include Volkl Rtm skis with Marker bindings and Dalbello boots. Snowboard packages include Flow Verve boards with Flow Flight 2 boots and Flow Vega bindings. Seasonal rentals can be purchased in the Tune Shop and start at just $99 per package.
