BEAR CREEK TO HOST WINE FESTIVAL
MACUNGIE, PA. -- The 2009 Bear Creek Wine Festival, sponsored by Lehigh Valley Style magazine, radio station B104 and the Philadelphia Premium Outlets, will be held on May 3, 2009 at Bear Creek Mountain Resort and Conference Center.

The Festival will take place from 1-5pm and will be held outdoors at the base of the mountain. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the Lodge.

A first year for the event, Bear Creek will host 11 Pennsylvania wineries, including Blue Mountain Vineyards, Vynecrest Winery, Stonekeep Meadery, Paradocx Vineyard, Boyd's Cardinal Hollow Winery, Cherry Valley Vineyards, Hidden Creek Vineyard, Antler Ridge Winery, Kog Hill Winery, Grovedale Winery and Vineyard and Bastress Mountain Winery. In addition, local food vendors will be sampling and selling popular wine pairings and craft vendors will have wine-themed merchandise available for purchase. Attendees will enjoy live entertainment by local musician Leechboy and will have the opportunity to attend three wine related seminars. Jason Pope, Executive Chef at Bear Creek, will speak on the topic on food and wine pairings while Sheree Krasley of Stone Keep Meadery will educate attendees on the differences between mead and grape wine and Joe Greff of Blue Mountain Winery and Vineyards will discuss the health benefits of wine.

Tickets are available for $20 in advance or $25 at the door and include a commemorative tasting glass. Designated driver tickets are also available for $5. The Inn at Bear Creek is also offering a Wine Festival package. Starting at just $195.95 for two guests, this package includes an overnight stay at The Inn at Bear Creek, a Welcome Gift with a bottle of wine and Bear Creek corkscrew, two tickets for the Wine Festival and breakfast for two at the Trail’s End Café.
