 Private Lessons

Reservations are highly recommended; call at 610-641-1319. Children under 6 must have a one-on-one lesson (Not recommended for children under 4). Rentals and lift tickets are not included.

"First Chair” Private Lessons
  • 1 ¼ hour private lessons available at 8:30am on weekends and holidays
  • For intermediate and advanced skiers or riders only
  • $106 for one person, $68 for each additional person**
 Private Lessons
  • 1 ¼ hr. lesson available at 10am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3pm, 4:30pm, 6pm, and 7:30pm daily
  • $106 for one person, $68 for each additional person**
Half-Day Private Lesson
  • 2 ½ hr. lesson available at 10am, 1:30pm, and 6pm daily
  • $187 for one person, $118 for each additional person**
Evening Family & Friends Private Lessons
  • 2 ½ hr. lesson for guests ages 8 and up
  • Available only at 6pm
  • $280 for 2 to 5 people
  • All people in lesson must be at compatible skill/terrain level and will share the lesson together
  • Ski and Snowboard cannot be mixed in the same lesson
 * A $25 fee will be charged for cancelations or rescheduling.
** Additional person(s) must be at compatible skill/terrain level.
 
 Discovery Program
 

This program is designed for first-timers and novice skiers and riders. Packages include equipment, extended day lift ticket, and learn-at-your-own-pace instruction combined with flexible start times. Ongoing sessions are held from 10am-12:30pm, and 1:30-4pm. Adult Discovery Package
  • Lesson package for first-timers as well as improving novice (green-circle) skiers or riders age 13 and up
  • Progressive self-paced instruction, flexible start time*
  • Lessons will be conducted on slopes serviced by D and E lifts
  • All-mountain lift ticket allows you to explore new terrain after your lesson
  • $100 weekdays, $114 weekends and holidays
Youth Discovery Package
  • Lesson package for first-timers as well as improving novice (green-circle) skiers or riders ages 8-12
  • 2-hour fully supervised lesson, flexible start time**
  • Lessons will be conducted on slopes serviced by D and E lifts
  • All-mountain lift ticket allows you to explore new terrain after your lesson
  • $100 weekdays, $114 weekends and holidays
* We don't recommend starting with less than ½ hour remaining in any session.

**A 2-hour lesson that begins with less than 2 hours remaining in a session can continue for the remainder of the time at the beginning of the next session. (Example: a lesson that begins at 11:30am and is interrupted by the 12:30 break will continue from 1:30-2:30pm. See above for latest recommended start times.)
 
 Kodiak Kids Programs
Programs are half-day small-group instruction with outdoor/indoor supervision. Package includes equipment, lift ticket, and lesson

Sessions are held daily from 10am-12pm or 1:30-3:30pm. Check-in begins 1 hour prior to the desired session. Reservations are highly recommended*; call at 610-641-1319.

Kodiak Rangers
  • 2 hour lesson package for intermediate and advanced skiers ages 6-12
  • Participants must be able to ride lifts and turn/stop on at least green-circle slopes.
  • $100 weekdays, $114 weekends and holidays
Kodiak Rovers 
  • 2 hour lesson package for first-time skiers ages 6 and 7
  • Limited to one session per child per day.
  • $100 weekdays, $114 weekends and holidays

Tuesday Night Youth Series
 This six-week lesson series for both skiers and snowboarders is designed to refine existing skills and explore new terrain while developing well rounded skiers and riders. This is also a great series for first-time skiers and riders to acquire a solid foundation from the beginning. Advanced reservations are required; call 610-641-1319.
  • Series for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities age 8-14
  • Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm
  • Series dates: Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30, Feb. 6, 13
  • $165 for six-week series (lesson only, does not include lift ticket or rentals)
  • $135 for six-week series for members of any Eastern Pennsylvania Ski Council club. Must present proof of club membership at time of purchase. (lesson only, does not include lift ticket or rentals)
 
 Freestyle Fundamentals Park Program
This five-evening program is designed to build a solid freestyle foundation for young skiers and snowboarders. Participants will learn to reinforce and strengthen fundamental skiing/snowboarding skills while practicing park features.
  • Program for youth ages 10-16 with intermediate or better skiing/snowboarding skills
  • Skiing/snowboarding approved helmet required
  • Thursday evenings Jan. 18, 25, Feb. 1, 8, 15 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
  • $160 for five-session program (lesson only, does not include lift or rentals)

Youth Development & Racing Programs

Eight-week programs are designed to build solid fundamentals and strong all-terrain skiing skills through a diverse combination of free-skiing, skill-development drills, and tactical gate training. Participants will have the opportunity to compete in NASTAR and special non-sanctioned Slalom and Giant Slalom races at Bear Creek.

 Foundations and Fundamentals
  • Program for intermediate or better skiers age 7-11
  • Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-12pm and 1-3pm
  • Weekends of Dec. 30 & 31, Jan. 6 & 7, Jan. 20 & 21, Jan. 27 & 28, Feb. 3 & 4, Feb. 10 & 11, Feb. 24 & 25, Mar. 3 & 4
  • $625 for eight-week coaching program
  • Participants will need to purchase a season pass.
 Advanced Skiing and Racing
  • Program for advanced intermediate or better skiers and racers age 9-14
  • Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-12pm and 1-3pm
  • Weekends of Dec. 30 & 31, Jan. 6 & 7, Jan. 20 & 21, Jan. 27 & 28, Feb. 3 & 4, Feb. 10 & 11, Feb. 24 & 25, Mar. 3 & 4

 Mountain Mastery Parents Program
A five-weekend program is specifically designed with skiing parents in mind. Coached by top-level trainers (the same folks who train our instructors), this family-focused series develops technical and tactical mastery while also teaching parents how to successfully shape the skiing skills of their children.
  • Program for parents with intermediate or advanced skiing skills
  • Available as five sessions (Sat. or Sun.) or ten sessions (both Sat. and Sun.) from 10am-12pm
  • Saturdays Jan. 20, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 24 and/or Sundays Jan. 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11, 25
  • $160 for five-session program or $320 for ten-session program (both programs are lesson only)

 Women's Clinics
Clinics are specifically designed for women and taught exclusively by women. Reservations are required; call at 610-641-1319.
Women's First-Timer Clinics
  • Two-day introductory clinic held on consecutive Tuesdays
  • Jan. 2 & 9 from 10am-4pm daily
  • $216 for lift/lesson/rental package
Thursday Women’s Clinic Series
  • Four-day women's clinics held on consecutive Thursdays
  • Jan. 4, 11, 18 & 25 or Feb. 1, 8, 15 & 22 from 9:30am-3:30pm daily
  • $280 for lift/lesson package

 

 Senior Skiing Clinic Series
This program is designed to help sharpen your skills and build confidence. Classes will include indoor time for lunch and video analysis of your skiing. For reservations, call at 610-641-1319.
  • Clinic for individuals ages 50 and up
  • Wednesdays Jan. 10, 17, 24, 31, Feb. 7 from 10:00am -1:00pm
  • $40 per session or $175 for all 5 sessions (clinic only, does not include lift or rentals)
  • Skill levels - Intermediate to Advanced

 Instructor Training Course
2017-18 Instructor Training Course:
  •  The Instructor Training Course (ITC) is designed for dedicated skiers and snowboarders interested in becoming professional instructors with the Bear Creek Snowsports School (BCSS)
  • This 2-day weekend course (Nov. 11-12) will consist of indoor/outdoor training and evaluation
  • The fee for the course is $50
Requirements
  • All candidates must be strong intermediate skiers/riders or better to become instructors.
  • Associate Instructor positions are available to 14 and 15 year olds. All others should apply for ski or snowboard instructor positions. 
  • Top candidates will be offered an instructor's position at the conclusion of the ITC. If you are not selected your fee will be refunded.
