We're Moving Online for the 20/21 Winter Season

Macungie, Pa. – Bear Creek Mountain Resort is a four-season resort located in Macungie, Pa., just miles from I-78. The resort is a premier destination with beginner-friendly staff and slopes.
Out of abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 concerns, Bear Creek will be changing its operations for the 20/21 winter season in order to provide a safe recreational experience for its guests. This year Bear Creek will be moving all day ticket sales to an online platform that will help to control the amount of guests at the resort at any given time. Additionally, this contactless technology will help to alleviate excess congestion and move guests through the ticket/rental/lesson process much faster. The resort will also be implementing operational changes both indoors and out on the mountain to further reduce contact points.
Guests will now start their winter sport experience right from their couch by using the online sales platform, Inntopia, to purchase tickets, rentals, and the majority of lesson products. Having all ticketed items before guests arrive at the resort will help alleviate any congregation of large amounts of people. The resort is using a dynamic pricing model this year for all day lift tickets, which means pricing will be based upon demand. Day ticket quantities will also be date-specific and limited to avoid any overcrowding. The online sales channel, Inntopia, will be made available to the public early to mid-December. Guests will be able to purchase lift tickets, rental equipment, and season passes ahead of opening day.
In addition to online sales, Bear Creek has embraced many of the best ski and snowboard practices presented by the NSAA (National Ski Association) to help alleviate overcrowding. The NSAA’s creation of a nation-wide platform for ski resorts to work together will allow ski resorts, such as Bear Creek, to provide the same great winter sports experience even amidst the changes. Bear Creek adopted many parts of the ‘Ski Well Be Well’ playbook including limiting capacity, restructuring rental and lodge buildings to avoid overcrowding in indoor areas, amending ski school lesson formats to allow for contact tracing, and creating appropriate physical distancing in lift lines and on the chair lifts.
The aforementioned efforts are in alignment with Bear Creek’s comprehensive cleaning and sanitization program, Every Strong, that was published earlier this year. The program’s goal is to ensure guest-safety is a top priority during these uncertain times. ‘Ever Strong’ is built upon four pillars: physical distancing, cleanliness, active monitoring and rapid response. All team members have received comprehensive training on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols, making Bear Creek a safe destination for outdoor fun this winter. Together, these efforts will ensure guests that the resort is taking the necessary precautions to keep its everyone safe while on the resort’s premise.
Bear Creek will be ready to open as soon as they are able to cover mountain in snow. In preparation for the upcoming season, online purchasing through Inntopia will be available to guests early to mid-December. The Rental and Tune shop are currently open for seasonal rentals and equipment tuning. The resort’s 20/21 opening day is still yet to be announced.
